Rev. Jesse Jackson continued apologizing for his remarks about Barack Obama earlier in the week, telling reporters in Denver this evening that he was embarrassed over his comments.

Jackson made his remarks as he arrived at the Blair Caldwell Research Library to speak to several dozen leaders of the city’s black community.

Reporters didn’t get the chance to ask Jackson about the remarks. He addressed them himself not long after he got out of a black SUV to enter the building.

“There’s been a lot of controversy the last few days,” Jackson said just after praising Obama for running a “magnificent campaign.”

Jackson received widespread criticism after making comments that Obama was “talking down to black people,” something that Jackson said, using a euphemism, made him want to castrate Obama.

“The barbershop, locker room trash talk is never acceptable in public policy,” Jackson told reporters in Denver, adding, “I felt embarrassed by it, frankly.”
