Two undefeated drum corps met for the first time this year Saturday night during the Drums Along the Rockies at Invesco Field at Mile High. The judges gave a half-point decision to the Blue Devils of Concord, Calif., over The Cavaliers of Rosemont, Ill.
The Blue Devils scored 87.150 to The Cavaliers 86.625. Denver’s Blue Knights finished fifth with a score of 80.
The national tour of elite junior drum and bugle corps from across the United States competed in Denver leading up to the Drum Corps International World Championships on Aug. 9 in Bloomington, Ind.
