SAN FRANCISCO — The Giants traded second baseman Ray Durham to the Brewers for two minor-leaguers Sunday.
San Francisco received left-hander Steve Hammond and outfielder Darren Ford for Durham, who was batting .293 with three homers and 32 RBIs.
Also Sunday, San Francisco placed right-handed reliever Keiichi Yabu on the 15-day disabled list with a sprained right middle finger and purchased the contract of lefty Geno Espineli from Triple-A Fresno.

Mariners closer J.J. Putz looked perfect after pitching a one-two-three inning in his return from the 15-day DL.
The Mariners also optioned left-hander Ryan Rowland-Smith to Triple-A Tacoma.
• The White Sox placed Jose Contreras on the 15-day DL and recalled right-hander D.J. Carrasco from Triple-A Charlotte.
• The Red Sox placed David Aardsma on the 15-day DL because of a groin injury, and recalled rookie Justin Masterson from Triple-A Pawtucket.

• The Dodgers signed former White Sox infielder Pablo Ozuna and designated infielder Luis Maza for assignment.
• The Diamondbacks activated catcher Chris Snyder from the 15-day DL and optioned catcher-infielder Robby Hammock to Tucson.
• Cubs outfielder Alfonso Soriano will begin a rehab assignment today with Chicago’s rookie league team in Arizona and is expected to come off the DL on Thursday.
