Another toasty day greets metro residents. If you’re training for August’s Tri for the Cure triathlon or just taking Rover for a walk, pack extra water. The high will peak at 95 degrees, The National Weather Service says. Expect light winds, blowing through mostly cloudy skies from the north northwest.
Tonight will be cooler with a low near 65 degrees. There is a 20 percent chance of thunderstorms after 1 p.m. today, increasing to a 30 percent chance before midnight. The Weather Service expects winds to pick up by nightfall, with gusts as high as 24 mph.
Tomorrow will be a bit warmer, with a high near 96. Calm wind and cloudy skies will bring a 20 percent chance of thunderstorms between noon and midnight. The low will drop to 64 degrees, according to the Weather Service.
Temperatures will drop slightly on Friday, and the chance of rain will increase to 30 percent between noon and midnight. Skies will remain cloudy, and winds will stay calm. The overnight low on Friday will be around 64 degrees.
The weekend forecast is hot, with highs in the low 90s and a slight chance of showers both days.
