MIAMI — Atlanta third baseman Chipper Jones and ace Tim Hudson left Wednesday night’s game against the Marlins because of injuries.
Jones strained his left hamstring running out a groundball in the fourth inning, and Hudson departed after throwing only 68 pitches because of tightness in his right elbow. Hudson said he expects to make his next start as scheduled.
Jones said he hopes to avoid the disabled list but might miss the start of an important series against division co-leader Philadelphia beginning Friday.
