ESTES PARK, Colo.—About two dozen searchers and search dogs are looking for a man whose fellow campers say failed to return from a solo hike near Estes Park.
Larimer County sheriff’s officials say 52-year-old Patrick Higgins of Maryland was with the Men’s Leadership Alliance of Boulder when he left for a hike around noon Tuesday. He was supposed to return five hours later. Fellow campers reported him missing when he still hadn’t returned Wednesday morning.
Civil Air Patrol was assisting with the search Thursday in extremely steep and rocky terrain known as Hell’s Canyon.
Higgins’ hometown wasn’t given.
