Julia Child gets all the ink, but the greatest cooking show ever was the BBC’s “Two Fat Ladies,” starring the inimitable Clarissa Dickson Wright (below right) and the even more inimitable (but now sadly deceased) Jennifer Paterson. With wit, intelligence and a fierce dedication to “real” cooking, these two introduced the world to such delights as bubble and squeak, jugged kippers and Robert Mays’ salmon.
