The second of two men struck by lightning last week on the Colorado State University campus has died.
Mark Vernon Richard, 33, died on Wednesday, said CSU spokeswoman Dell Rae Moellenberg.
Last Thursday, a bolt of lightning struck Richard, a graduate assistant in psychology, and William John Szlemko, 35, a Ph.D student in psychology.
The two were found unconscious outside the university’s Forestry building. Szlemko, who wrote a study linking bumper stickers to road rage that garnered national media attention, was declared dead soon after he was found.
Richard was taken to Poudre Valley Hospital, where he died.
