Getting your player ready...

Highlight

Rookie linebacker Spencer Larsen switched out of his white defensive jersey and into a blue one Thursday morning as he began practicing with the offense as a fullback. Larsen said he expects to play both positions in Saturday’s first preseason game at Houston. He’ll play offense through the first three quarters and will play at middle linebacker in the fourth quarter. He worked as the scout team fullback Thursday and stayed on the field after practice to catch some passes from quarterback Darrell Hackney.

“It’s kind of intimidating, but also exciting, to have your first NFL game, playing a position you haven’t played since high school,” Larsen said.

Extra Point

Wide receiver Brandon Marshall on Wednesday pledged to be active in doing charity work in the Denver community, and he made good on that promise Thursday, when he and defensive end Elvis Dumervil invited a group of kids from Rev. Leon Kelly’s Open Door Youth Gang Alternatives group to Dove Valley.

The kids received VIP passes and T-Shirts, and spent time with a handful of players after practice. Marshall, who spoke to the same kids in early June, spent the most time with the group, posing for pictures, signing autographs and handing out popsicles.
