A 26-year-old Greeley man was thrown from his sport utility vehicle and killed today just after 1 a.m., when he swerved off Weld County Road 54, officials say.
Isaac R. Villegas, 26, of Greeley was pronounced dead by a doctor at the scene, said Trooper Gilbert Mares, spokesman for the Colorado State Patrol.
Mary A. Munoz, 23, of Greeley, a passenger in the car, received minor injuries, Mares said.
Villegas was going east in a white 2005 Buick Rendezvous when he went off the right side of the road, overcorrected, struck a guard rail on the opposite side of the road and then went off the right side of the road again, Mares said.
His SUV went through two barbed-wire fences.
