Free Day at the Denver Museum of Nature & Science offers refuge from summer heat with the Extreme Ice exhibit of James Balog’s photographs taken by equipment installed on 26 glaciers. Visitors’ blood may run cold upon seeing the visual evidence of global warming. Montana’s Sperry Glacier’s surface area measured 3.76 square kilometers in 1850; in 1993, the surface area was 0.87 square kilometers.
