A lightning bolt struck an Evergreen man in a finger, traveled through his body and exited his foot, authorities say.

The man does not have any apparent injuries, is conscious and able to describe the strike that hit his home at 6049 Park St. and then struck him at about 1:10 p.m., said Mike Weege, dispatcher for Evergreen Fire Rescue.

Firefighters were first called to the home on a possible house fire caused by a lightning strike, Weege said.

They found the man outside his home and are evaluating him, he said.

“He has no complaint,” Weege said.
