A two-year investigation by Denver vice police led to the arrest of a woman and a man on charges they pimped a string of more than 50 prostitutes, some of them children.

Police have arrested Hong Tang, 28, and Todd Allen Powell, 44, on suspicion of running the ring.

Tang has been arrested for prostitution-related crimes in every year since 2004, according to Colorado Bureau of Investigation records.

But her arrest last Friday is the first involving children. Powell doesn’t have any arrest record in Colorado.

“The domestic sex trafficking ring operated by the suspect Tang, had employed in excess of 50 female prostitutes, including children, since 2005, and was making in excess of $1 million annually in illegal proceeds,” according to a Denver PD news release.

The vice team recovered over $30,000 in cash as well as computers and quantities of condoms, lubricant, and other prostitution related items, at Tang’s home. Detectives froze several accounts containing an estimated $316,000.

Detectives will also be pursuing asset forfeiture actions against Tang’s vehicles, a 2006 Toyota Corolla and a 2007 Honda CRV, and her residence, which are worth approximately $400,000.

Tang was arrested Friday on nine felony counts of pimping, procurement and pandering. Powell was arrested Saturday on charges of pimping, conspiracy and other prostitution-related offenses,
