The Avalanche on Monday signed forward Tom Fritsche and defenseman Nigel Williams to entry-level contracts, the team said.
The 20-year-old Williams last played with the Belleville Bulls of the Ontario Hockey League, where he finished fifth in the league among defenseman with 15 goals.
Colorado selected Williams in the second round, 51st overall, in the 2006 NHL draft.
Fritsche, 21, played with Ohio State last season, notching 19 points (five goals, 14 assists). He was also a second-round pick of the Avs, 47th overall, in the 2005 NHL draft.
