Whole Foods Market announced Tuesday that stores in Colorado, Kansas, New Mexico and Utah are now a part of a voluntary beef recall that began Thursday.
Fresh ground beef sold between June 2 and Aug. 6 was recalled because of possible E. coli contamination after Whole Foods found that Loveland-based Meyer Natural Angus had used Nebraska Beef Ltd. to process Coleman Natural Beef.
The Nebraska Beef facility, which had not been approved to process Whole Foods- bound meat, issued a recall of 1.2 million pounds of beef Thursday because of possible contamination.
