The Avalanche will return to the Air Force Academy in September for the team’s annual preseason Burgundy-White game. It’s the second consecutive year Cadet Ice Arena will be the site of the intrasquad game.

The Avs will play their three-period, full-pad scrimmage Sept. 22 at 6 p.m. The game is open to fans and tickets can be found at beginning Monday.

The game will help raise money to benefit military families and the Avs’ youth hockey program.

“We’re pleased to be working again this season with the Air Force Academy for a tremendous cause,” Avs assistant general manager Greg Sherman said. “This game was a huge success last year and we’re expecting another great turnout from our fans in the area.”
