Bolstered by new donors, the Freedom From Religion Foundation’s billboard in Denverwhich now reads “Keep Religion Out of Politics” — will stay up during the Democratic National Convention, which runs Aug. 25-28.
Local foundation members bought billboard space for an ad reading “Imagine No Religion” at West 14th Avenue and Fox Street for June and July but initially couldn’t afford the bigger sum charged during prime time — the convention.
Donors kicked in the extra dollars needed and requested the more direct billboard message.
The Madison, Wis.-based foundation, a nonpartisan nonprofit that promotes its view of the separation of church and state, ran a national billboard campaign this summer to highlight its message.
