A 20-month-old boy who was rushed to the hospital after being found in a hot tub has died, according to the Adams County Sheriff’s Office.
The incident happened Aug.12 at 8199 Welby Road and the boy died on Tuesday, the sheriff’s office said in a news release.
Authorities were called to the Welby Road address early in the afternoon on a report of a drowning.
The boy, who the Adams County Coroner’s Office identified as Kaden Newsome, was found in a hot tub in the backyard by a woman who was at the home to pick up her dog, the sheriff’s office said.
The boy and his two-year-old sister had been left with a 28-year-old uncle while the children’s father ran errands, the sheriff’s office said.
An autopsy is being performed today and the coroner’s office will also run toxicology tests to determine the cause of death, coroner James Hibbard said.
An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
