ST. PAUL, Minn.—The welcoming committee is going to work for the Republican National Convention.

Streetlights in downtown Minneapolis and near St. Paul’s Xcel Energy Center are being draped with welcome banners for the Sept. 1-4 convention.

More than 600 banners will go up in both cities.

The Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport will also get banners and decals in the baggage claim area.

Volunteers, hotel and restaurant workers and local business owners are getting buttons to welcome visitors.

Organizers expect 45,000 people to come to the convention, not counting protesters.
