DENVER—Denver Public Schools and the union representing the district’s teachers have reached a tentative three-year pay agreement.
The school board and Denver Classroom Teachers Association still must ratify the agreement. Details weren’t released.
“This three-year deal will accomplish our mutual goal of rewarding and retaining our current teachers, attracting new teachers to DPS, and allowing all of us to focus our efforts over the next three years on the continuing progress in our schools and classrooms. We are both pleased with the outcome,” association President Kim Ursetta and Superintendent Michael Bennet said in a joint written statement Friday.
Both sides said no further public comments would be made until at least 6 p.m. Sunday.
The current pay-for-performance agreement was to expire Aug. 31.
