The little drizzle last night barely dampened protester’s spirits. As it peppered the metro area, activists continued training and preparing for next week’s Democratic National Convention protests.

In Civic Center Park, across from the state capitol building, protesters and police gathered under trees, both parties eying the other furtively.

Today, the rain may come again.

The National Weather Service forecasts a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms from now until Monday night.

Tuesday will be bright and sunny, with the week-long high peaking at 93 degrees.

Cloudy skies and a slight chance of rain are expected for the rest of the week.

Despite the looming rain clouds, highs will hang in the upper 80s and lower 90s.

Meteorologists say the high will climb to 89 degrees today, 90 tomorrow and 93 on Tuesday.

Wednesday, temps will subside slightly. The high should be near 84 on Wednesday and Thursday.

The weather service says overnight lows will fluctuate in the 50s and low 60s from tonight through Friday night.
