Anti-abortion activists staged a mini-demonstration at the entrance of the Colorado Convention Center today.
They held up a banner with a picture of Barack Obama on one end and a dead fetus on the other. In between the pictures, the banner read: “A vote for Obama is a vote for dead children.”
Brian Sherwood, who used a loudspeaker to shout at people coming and going from the building, said he is an intern working with Randall Terry’s Operation Rescue. Sherwood said his objective was to “get this holocaust turned around.”
The demonstration around lunchtime attracted plenty of reaction from the crowd.
Russ Belville, a blogger with Pam’s House , demanded to know whether the demonstrators believed that women who have abortions should be prosecuted for murder. Belville said he is pro-choice and wanted to point out the inconsistency in the abortion foes’ position.
“It’s a satirical way of getting at it,” Belville said.
