Sick of the Democratic National Convention? We don’t blame you. Play hooky from the madness and high-tail it to Pueblo for the Colorado State Fair, which has two distinct advantages over the DNC: One, there is a queen (who will preside over Sunday’s Fiesta Day Parade), and, two, there is a pie competition (to be judged today at 6 p.m.).
Throw in a few rodeo competitions, a whole mess of rides and vendors, a Sea Lion Splash Show, and an excellent entertainment lineup that includes hipster crooner Colbie Caillat, right, and country powerhouse outfit Sugarland — now there’s a party.
