Authorities canceled an Amber Alert this morning, about five hours after the alert was issued for a 5-month-old girl from Alamosa
According to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, Avaya Lampkin’s biological father had taken her by force from her home.
The Alamosa County Sheriff’s Office reported that Justin Lampkins broke into the house and took the baby, cutting the mother with a knife. The woman sustained cuts to her ear, throat and hand.
Just before 7 a.m., the alert was canceled after the baby was found but no further details were immediately available.
