Convention activists and protesters shared ground on the second day of the Democratic National Convention Tuesday.

The anti-abortion activist group Operation Rescue blocked the Pepsi Center entrance. The Rev. Norman Weslin was later arrested. The group also parked a “truth truck” outside Michelle Obama’s hotel. The group uses trucks covered with large-scale, graphic photos of aborted fetuses to spread its message. The truck aimed at Obama stated, “Abortion is an Obama nation.”

President Troy Newman said, “It is important for the Obamas to understand the very tragic consequences of their support for abortion,” in a statement on the group’s website.

Michelle Obama later shared the spotlight with Sen. Hillary Clinton at a Gala for Emily’s List, an organization that supports pro-choice, female candidates.
