HOUSTON — A spokesman says the wife of Republican Ron Paul is leaving a Houston hospital after more than two weeks.
Spokesman Jesse Benton tells The Associated Press that 72-year-old Carol Paul will be released Tuesday night. He says her condition has improved after having three surgeries and that “she is alert and talking.” The couple plans to return home.
Benton is not giving further details about what Carol Paul was treated for. She has been hospitalized since Aug. 11.
A Texas congressman from Lake Jackson, Ron Paul was the Libertarian Party nominee for president in 1988 and ran unsuccessfully for the 2008 GOP presidential nomination.
