Sen. Ken Salazar will be among the speakers who nominate Sen. Barack Obama for president from the podium tonight at the Democratic National Convention.

“I’m going to talk about the American dream, one I have lived and one that he has lived,” the Colorado Democrat said in an interview on the convention floor Tuesday. “I’m going to talk about the need to restore the faith in that American dream.”

An aide said Salazar would be among those who second the Illinois senator’s nomination. The Obama campaign has not released details on the other speakers. Salazar has been leading Obama’s Western charge for weeks now, and that role has grown as the convention has unfolded.
