Rock the Vote will sponsor 20 bands at the Denver Performing Arts Complex sculpture park (you know, the one with the mildly disturbing dancing “aliens”) today from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., including All, the Photo Atlas, the Heyday, Kinetix, Animo, the Mansfields, Reno Divorce, Vonnegut, Spools of Dark Thread, Sho Nuff, Motorhome, Menis- kus and American Relay. Free.
Jazz Aspen Snowmass continues to deviate from its genre tag at its Labor Day festival this weekend, featuring performances from Bob Dylan and His Band, Widespread Panic, Xavier Rudd, Dwight Yoakam, John Fogerty, Ziggy Marley, Otis Taylor, Yonder Mountain String Band, Tift Merritt and others. Today through Monday in Snowmass Town Park. $40-$55.
Ratatat practically defines the mischievous, Day-Glo experimentalism that reigns in the competitive Brooklyn indie scene these days, veering from video- game-worthy dance tracks to blasts of tribal percussion, funky organ and liquid guitar. Tuesday at the Gothic Theatre with kindred souls Panther and E*Rock. $15.
