DENVER—Colorado Sen. Ken Salazar has told the Democratic National Convention that Barack Obama would cut U.S. dependence on foreign oil, make health care available to everyone and make the nation safer.
Salazar was one of three people who made speeches seconding Obama’s nomination for president.
Salazar says Republican John McCain would continue the “failed policies” of President Bush.
In his prepared remarks, Salazar says, “We can’t afford four more years of letting the American dream fade. We can’t afford four more years of forgetting the middle class.”
He says Obama has lived the American dream and would make sure others can do the same if they work hard.
