FORT COLLINS, Colo.—A company with a technology to construct low-cost solar panels has received $104 million to help finance a production facility in Longmont.
Fort Collins-based AVA Solar says it’s developed an advanced thin-film photovoltaic module technology for solar panels.
It said Thursday it received the equity financing from private sources. The funding effort was overseen by DCM. Among the new investors are Technology Partners, GLG Partners and Bohemian Companies LLC.
AVA Solar is a Colorado State University spinoff.
The new plant is designed to have the capacity to produce 200 megawatts of photovoltaic modules every year.
