The Rocky Mountain Rage and Colorado Eagles announced Thursday that their opening preseason game, Oct. 8 at the Budweiser Event Center, will benefit former Eagles player Les Borsheim, who was seriously injured in a motorcycle accident in Weld County on June 1.

All proceeds will go to the Les Borsheim Recovery Fund. Borsheim injured his neck. He is being treated at Craig Hospital in Denver and has regained some movement and strength.

Former teammate and captain of the Oklahoma City Blazers, Tyler Fleck, has created a website (www.teamborsheim.com) where well-wishers can leave comments, get updates and donate to the fund. Also, Pelican Lakes Golf and Country Club in Windsor will hold a benefit celebrity tournament Sept. 5 that will include several members of the Avalanche.
