With all his fresh bling, who needs swimming? Certainly not Michael Phelps — not anymore, at least. The swimmer who took home a record eight gold medals from the Beijing Games will serve as a presenter at the Video Music Awards on Sept. 7, announced he will write a book about his road to Olympic history (to be released in time for the holidays), made a cameo appearance for the HBO series “Entourage” and, in his greatest risk looking like a fish out of water — pipe in the laughter any time — will make his acting debut on “Saturday Night Live” on Sept. 13.
