Local Elks lodges again are spearheading a drive that allows Colorado big-game hunters to donate their hides to a program that benefits the Veterans Administration healthcare system. Hides that are collected are transported to tanneries, then either made into fingerless gloves for wheelchair users or converted to craft kits. Dropoff locations are: Brighton Elks, 101 N. The ninth annual Serious Fishermen Team Pike Tournament is scheduled for Saturday at Elevenmile Reservoir. Cash prizes are offered both for biggest fish and heaviest weight for a catch of up to 10 northern pike. Last year, contestants weighed more than 540 pounds of pike.
