A 24-year-old Boulder man received facial injuries early this morning in a scuffle with deputies after they caught him bashing windows of several patrol cars.
Kurt Grimmelman was arrested in the investigation of second-degree assault of an officer, resisting arrest, criminal mischief and two counts of trespassing at 4 a.m. Boulder County Sheriff’s deputies found him inside a sheriff’s office vehicle, authorities say.
A deputy also received minor facial injuries after Grimmelman attacked the officer during an arrest, said Sgt. Jason Oehlkers, spokesman for the Boulder sheriff’s office.
Grimmelman allegedly damaged a prisoner transport van, two Boulder police patrol cars and a car belonging to a bond commissioner, Oehlkers said.
Authorities don’t know why Grimmelman attacked the vehicles.
