A 12-year-old boy was injured today when he ran out in front of a car in a Colorado Springs neighborhood.

The accident happened at about 8 a.m. today in the 4900 block of Airport Road, according to a police report.

A car was traveling westbound when the boy ran in front of it. The car’s right front fender and mirror hit the boy, breaking his left leg.

Witnesses told police the driver was not speeding and that the boy didn’t look before he ran into the street.

The driver was not cited, police said.
