BOULDER, Colo.—A man accused of posing as a police officer to get free porn missed a court date.

Thirty-three-year-old Andrew Libby of Longmont was due for a preliminary hearing Tuesday.

Police say he was arrested last month on suspicion that he told an adult novelty store clerk that he needed to check some X-rated videos for underage actors for a police “age verification unit.” Libby didn’t get any films.

Public defender Kristi Sanders said the last she heard was that her client was being evaluated at a mental health facility but that he might have been taken to the Colorado Mental Health Institute in Pueblo. Prosecutors weren’t sure of Libby’s whereabouts either.

A judge ordered the parties to appear in court again Thursday.
