BRIGHTON — The Raptor Education Foundation is building a $1 million office and environmental-resource center at Prairie Center in Brighton.

The nonprofit organization, dedicated to the preservation of raptors, is relocating after 25 years at 21901 E. Hampden Ave. The new 14,500-square- foot headquarters and raptor center will allow the foundation to host its first nature education center, housing up to 50 raptors.

The $500 million Prairie Center, being developed by St. Louis-based THF Realty, will include 3 million square feet of retail; 4,500 detached homes, condominiums and apartments; a hotel complex and an office development on 1,984 acres.
