DENVER—Montana Sen. Max Baucus is helping a Democratic colleague to the south.
Baucus appeared with Senate candidate Mark Udall in Denver on Thursday, along with about two dozen outdoor enthusiasts backing the Democrat’s bid for the state’s open seat. The outdoor enthusiasts are retired from the Colorado Division of Wildlife.
Montana’s longest-serving senator then joined Udall at a private fundraiser luncheon.
Baucus says Udall is pragmatic and “the right kind of guy.” Baucus says he also knew and liked Udall’s father, the late congressman Morris Udall of Arizona.
