GREELEY, Colo.—A police sergeant under investigation after a bar fight in Larimer County no longer works for the city, a city official said.
Kell Hulsey’s employment with the city ended Tuesday, Greeley Human Resources Director Sharon McCabe said. She could not say if he was terminated or resigned, and Police Chief Jerry Garner said he couldn’t comment because it’s a personnel matter.
Hulsey was accused of starting a fight at a bar July 6 in the Red Feather Lakes area west of Fort Collins. The victim had numerous facial cuts. Hulsey’s son, Daniel Hulsey, 28, was arrested for fighting, but charges were later dismissed.
Larimer County investigators said Wednesday they were waiting for DNA evidence before deciding whether to file charges against Kell Hulsey.
Hulsey, a 20-year veteran of the Greeley police department, had been on paid leave since the fight.
A phone number for Hulsey could not be found.
