A custodian in the Gilpin School District has been arrested on charges of sexually assaulting a 7-year-old at the child’s home.
Frederick Allan Griechen, 49, was arrested by Central City Police Department on Friday. The arrest was announced by prosecutors Monday.The small school district includes an elementary school and a high school on the same campus on Colorado 119 in Black Hawk.
The assault is alleged to have happened in the early morning hours Friday. Griechen is acquainted with the child’s parents, according to the district attorney’s office.
Police were called by the child’s parents.
Griechen is in the Gilpin County Jail where he is being held without bond. His first court appearance is tomorrow.
