Bowyer, who finished 12th in the regular- season point standings, gained a whopping eight spots — good for a tie for fourth — thanks to his lone regular-season victory. He only has four top-five finishes, tied for fewest among Chase drivers, but at least Bowyer won a race, which is something playoff drivers Tony Stewart, Greg Biffle, Jeff Gordon, Kevin Harvick and Matt Kenseth can’t claim. The top 12 were reseeded for the playoffs Sunday according to wins, and Bowyer is among a group of four drivers with one win each.
