The Denver Medical Examiner’s Office identified the man gunned down near Curtis Park on Tuesday evening as 35-year-old Quincy Henderson of Denver.

Henderson was involved in a fistfight with another man, who pulled a pistol and shot Henderson several times.

The shooter got away, and police were trying to develop a description of him and talk to numerous witness today, said Denver police Detective Sharon Hahn.

“We believe there are numerous witnesses because this happened at a park,” Hahn said.

Henderson was rushed to Denver Health Medical Center, where he died.

The Medical Examiner’s Office said the victim died from a gunshot to the left side of his chest. He also had a “significant” wound to the right shoulder.
