The Colorado Symphony Orchestra has named Marvin Hamlisch as its principal pops conductor.

Hamlisch has conducted several pops concerts for the CSO. He is best-known for his movie music, writing scores and songs for films that include “The Way We Were” and “The Sting.”

According to the CSO, he will conduct three concerts a year for two years. The first, a program of George Gershwin’s music, is set for Feb. 21.
