Denver’s KDVR-Channel 31, the Fox affiliate, has a new boss. Dennis Leonard on Thursday was named Vice President and General Manager, effective immediately.

Leonard was previously in the same post at WBRC-TV, the Fox affiliate in Birmingham, Alabama, market No. 40, for more than a decade. WBRC is owned by Local TV LLC of Fort Wright, Kentucky, the same group that purchased KDVR in Denver. This summer Fox sold KDVR, WBRC and six other network-owned affiliates to Local TV LLC, a holding company controlled by Oak Hill Capital Partners.

Leonard succeeds Bill Schneider, who left KDVR in June in advance of the sale, to take over the Fox station in Tampa Bay, Florida.
