COLUMBIA, Mo. — Chase Daniel passed for 405 yards and four touchdowns and explosive Missouri scored on its first 10 possessions in routing Nevada 69-17 on Saturday.
Daniel was 23-of-28 passing and led Missouri (3-0) to seven touchdowns and a field goal before exiting in the third quarter.
“We want to score every time we touch the ball,” said Daniel, a Heisman Trophy finalist a year ago. “We know that’s probably not going to happen.”
The Tigers almost did. Daniel did all his damage without playing into the fourth quarter. His backups, Chase Patton and Blaine Gabbert, led two more scoring drives.
The Tigers gained 651 total yards and averaged a whopping 10 yards per play.
