A drive-by shooting early Saturday morning in southwest Denver left one man dead and authorities with no suspects, according to a Denver Police Department spokeswoman.

About 2:15 a.m., two men were walking near 3440 W. Dakota Ave. when a car drove by.

The men exchanged words with a person or persons in the car before the vehicle drove away, according to spokeswoman Detective Sharon Hahn.

The car circled back and someone shot at the two men, hitting one who died later at Denver Health Medical Center, Hahn said. The second man was not injured.

The identity of the victim was being withheld until his family could be notified.
