BYERS — A rivalry owned by Byers over the years finally went the way of the Indians. Strasburg, just 5 miles east of Byers on I-70, got 196 yards and two touchdowns on 19 carries from Geoff Keeling.

GREENWOOD VILLAGE — The host Bruins, who earlier this month lost a dual match to Kent Denver, won their own tournament and exacted a small amount of revenge on the runner-up Sun Devils.
Rocky Mountain junior Casey MacMaster, a state champion as a freshman, beat Cherry Creek’s Harry Jewett 6-1, 4-6, 6-3 to win the No. 1 singles championship.
BRUIN CLASSIC VOLLEYBALL TOURNEY
GREENWOOD VILLAGE — Cherry Creek won its own volleyball tournament, defeating Doherty in the title game 25-18, 25-21. Setter Gabrielle Dewberry was named the tournament MVP.
