CALHAN — Ten tigers from an animal sanctuary in Missouri that closed after a volunteer was mauled there have arrived at a sanctuary in Colorado.
The cats arrived Sunday at the Serenity Springs Wildlife Center in Calhan. The center is due to receive 15 tigers overall from the sanctuary in Warrenton, Mo. That center closed after a volunteer lost part of his leg in a tiger attack last month. The tiger was killed.
Serenity Springs Wildlife Center staff plan to return to Missouri next weekend for more tigers. Other sanctuaries also accepted animals from the Missouri sanctuary.
