Salomon and Nokia have teamed up to create a contest that is connecting runners around the world.
The Salomon XT Challenge awards a pair of Salomon XT Wings trail running shoes and a Nokia N-series Smartphone to runners who dream up the most imaginative and challenging running routes, then hit the trail and share their adventures online with maps, photos and stats from their run uploaded via free Nokia Sports Tracker software.
It works like this: Invent a challenge and submit the plans to . Each month, Salomon will select the most creative challenge and award the shoes and phone. When runners complete their challenge, they upload the photos and data to the website for others to check out.
Some of the challenges so far have included an English runner who’s re-creating the Central London Tube map on her Sports Tracker map by running all 11 routes above ground, and a French runner who challenged himself to run up the Eiffel Tower in less than 20 minutes. It shouldn’t take much to top those in Colorado.
