DENVER—Aurora has a new ordinance aimed at adults who lure children into cars.
The Aurora City Council gave final approval Monday to toughen a law that prohibits adults from luring unrelated children into cars. The city ordinance formerly required prosecutors to prove the adult meant the child harm.
The new ordinance prohibits luring a child into a car regardless of whether the child feared for his or her safety. City council members say there remains a Good Samaritan exception in cases where an adult was trying to help a child in need.
